New Delhi, Sept 9: In view of the coming festival of Eid-Uz-Azha (Bakri Id) the MRM has taken up a mass awareness program among the Muslims community regarding cow slaughter.

It may be mentioned that a few days ago Prime Minister Narendra Modi had warned about the 'fake gaurakshaks' in the wake of growing attacks on Dalits engaged in skinning the dead animals and the cow smugglers and traders in different parts of the country.

Now the MRM has joined in this campaign. During the campaign, the MRM activists would make the Muslims aware of the importance of cow in social life on the basis of verses in the Quran. Also, they will refer to various Hadis, and fatwas issued by Iranian and Deoband clergies on the issue.

The MRM has set up a legal cell to challenge the cow slaughter in the court of law. Financial help to the Madarsas is being  extended by the MRM.

The MRM has planned this campaign in view of the festival of Eid to be celebrated on September 13 all over the country. Incidents of cow slaughter have come to the fore in the name of 'kurbani' for Eid.

MRM Organising Convener Girish Juyal said that to effectively implement this campaign the MRM has identified 32 districts of 17 states where the MRM has dispatched special teams to perform the mission.

Juyal said that the Hadis and Quran also said that cow milk and ghee is healthy for the humans while beef is harmful and creates diseases.

MRM Delhi Pradesh Convener Adv Yasser Jilani said that the MRM will make use of social media to create awareness on this issue.
